IPMA Level D – Certified Project Management Associate

The entry-level IPMA certification provides basic project management knowledge. The target group is quite broad and ranges from project staff members and managers with partial responsibility to work package managers and aspiring talent.

IPMA Level C – Certified Project Manager

At this level, project management assistants who are already overseeing small projects or assisting project leads with the implementation of complex projects are assessed in terms of their project management skills and abilities. Candidates must also be able to demonstrate at least three years’ experience in a responsible project management role.

IPMA Level B – Certified Senior Project Manager

The Level B certification is appealing to those who aspire to lead large projects to success. Experienced project managers are assessed to determine if they are capable of independently managing projects in the medium-sized to large range. The certification tests the candidate’s comprehensive understanding of project management principles and their ability to successfully complete projects in a team, even under challenging conditions.

IPMA Level A – Certified Projects Director

The highest level of IPMA certification is aimed at seasoned senior project managers who are able to manage complex projects and programs. They must demonstrate that they have comprehensive project management skills and experience at the highest level. Participants must have already managed or be actively managing highly complex projects of strategic importance.
